*General Description:**	Victorian 4WD clubs can access permits to drive in the vicinity of Mt Skene during winter when many tracks in the Victorian High Country are seasonally close. This base camp trip involves camping at Skipworth Reserve just out of Jamieson (other prefer to get a cabin at the local caravan park, or a hotel room in town) with two convoys of 10 vehicles each heading up to the snow on Saturday. Subject to interest, we may also potentially run another 2 convoys on Sunday. Most people will arrive on Friday night for a meal at the Jamieson Hotel and then hang around the campfire at Skipworth Reserve. We will then line up Saturday Morning in Jamieson at 8.00 am for a briefing and then head up the Jamieson Licola Road in an effort to get to the summit of Mt Skene. Depending on the condition of the snow, we will normally get to the summit for lunch and a bit of snow play. On Saturday afternoon we will go for a little drive,then head back to camp and then head along to the pub for another meal. Everybody will be free to make their own way home at their own pace on Sunday. All vehicle must carry snow chains. This trip is usually very popular and sells out quickly. Unfortunately we are limited to 20 permits per club per day If you miss out on getting a spot, please join the waiting list and we will endeavour to get you a passenger seat in a car, or into a convoy on Sunday. . As a result it is a condition of entry onto this trip to reasonably offer any vacant seats to club members from the waiting list.
