This trip is a follow up to the excellent presentation by Rob Anderson about the Seaworks Maritime Museum at our July Club Meeting.
The Seaworks Maritime Museum in Williamstown has an impressive collection of artefacts, models and bells to showcase the stories of maritime history of Melbourne, particularly the areas surrounding the Williamstown Dockyards and the Port of Melbourne.
Opened in 2011, the museum has built up a significant collection of material largely through donations from the Port of Melbourne Corporation, the National Trust and many individuals.
Exhibitions in the Maritime Museum include the First Fleet, prison hulks, Melbourne Harbour Trust and the Colonial Navy. The museum also includes an extensive library of maritime books and a collection of ship photographs.
This registration is for Trip 2 (Weekend) - Sunday 23 August at 11.00am. A separate registration is available for a midweek visit.
Museum entry $10.00 per adult. Allow a couple of hours for a good look around.
Once numbers are confirmed we'll discuss who'd like to meet prior for coffee or afterwards for lunch.
